Learn current information on proper therapeutic shoe fitting and proper DME coding for you & your patients. Classes will be limited to no more than 30 attendees. Classroom hours will be 8:00am–5:00pm daily.

WHAT DOES COURSE INCLUDE?: Training for proper therapeutic shoe fitting will include: properly providing non-custom therapeutic shoes and non–custom multi–density inserts, patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, follow–up and practice management. Current DME requirements will also be covered. The course is an excellent tool for podiatric assistants and health care professionals to get quality, hands-on training to dispense and advise on therapeutic shoes and inserts. Proper training is key for quality care of at risk patients to decrease blistering, irritation and amputation.

WHO CAN TAKE THE COURSE? The course is open to all health care professionals. Physicians may attend any portion for overview. No CME is provided. Whether you want to pursue national certification for CFts accreditation or sit in for basic information and overview of current shoe fitting procedures, this course will help!

This 16 hour course is taught by a NCOPE⁄ABC approved provider and is approved as a prerequisite educational course required prior to taking the CFts certification exam. For details to complete national ABC Certification of Therapeutic Shoe Fitter (CFts), go to www.abcop.org for criteria detail and exam dates. This course also is eligible for ABC Category II Continuing Education criteria for pedorthists, orthotists, CFts and related fields.
