Community - Medical Missions - San Miguel , Mexico
Next mission dates:
June 19-26, 2010
The Texas Podiatric Medical Foundation supports the future of the profession by supporting Texas residency programs, in addition to coordinating mission projects.
For our San Miguel de Allende mission,
each medical mission team will consist of a minimum of 5 doctors and 2 residents. Each volunteer will be responsible for handling their own airfare. American, Continental and Aero Mexico all fly into Leon, Mexico. San Miguel is a 1.5 hour drive from Leon into the mountains. Volunteers will be responsible for all their own expenses. The Mission trip can be a business or charitable tax write off. CONTACT krista@txpma.org to volunteer or donate.
We can recommend a reasonable hotel for lodging at Villa Rivera for $119 US per night or if you plan to bring family, you can rent a home. A taxi is recommended from the hotel to the Casa Clinic, as it is a 15 minute walk. Taxis are very affordable and allow you to travel anywhere in San Miguel. The city is cobblestone, and is also a great walking city situated around the main cathedral and square. Make sure to bring your walking shoes! Many additional activities are available including: horseback riding, four wheeling into the hills, Spanish courses, art courses, ceramic and wood working areas, and many more historical sites of Mexico.
The clinic needs your donations of time and equipment so they may continue to provide free surgical treatment to children and adults in this under-served area. If you have any of the supplies listed below, please ship them to the TPMA office.
All donations - in kind or financial - are tax detuctible to TPMA 501 C3 and receipts are provided.
