The Texas Podiatric Medical Foundation believes in reaching out to the community. Several programs have been developed to assist those in need of proper foot health care. Those programs include:

  • Provide medical mission for foot and ankle clinical and surgical care to areas in need. The 2006-2007 medical missions include the San Miguel mission training adults and children in need from interior Mexico. Additional projects are coordinating Doctors without Borders mission trip and co-sponsoring the Christmas shoe drive for the orphanages in McAllen, Texas in December.

  • Arranging basic foot screenings for elementary school children.

  • Providing scholarships for podiatric medical residents to the approved Texas Podiatric Medical Foundation Resident Programs.

  • Captain Pod Activity Books designed to educate young children about the importance of health care and exercise.

  • Support and expand research and education for podiatric residency training in Texas.

  • Strive to standardize and offer top quality 2 and 3 year post graduate training amongst the CPME approved resdiency programs in Texas.
